Heritage and Risks Forum

Under the patronage of UNESCO, the French National Commission for UNESCO and the French Alliance for Cities and Territorial Development, the Alliance of European Cultural Cities (AVEC) and the International Union of scientific and technical associations and organizations (UATI) organized the International Forum about “Heritage and Risk in Europe and the Mediterranean”.

The Forum

In a world that is increasingly urbanising and where, today, the majority of people live in cities, control of development, enhancement of historical heritage, prevention and management of urban risks are, for public authorities but also for civil society, a major priority that requires constant efforts in scientific and technical planning but also in terms of organisation, governing and training.

For many years the UATI/AVEC team has worked on these themes of heritage and risk. It’s in this spirit that it has decided to take the initiative of organising, on December 10th, 2013, the forum “Heritage and Risk in Europe and the Mediterranean” taking place at the Villa Méditerranée in Marseille, France.

This Forum brought together the big European and Mediterranean stakeholders in charge of risk and heritage in the hope of answering the questions asked of those in charge at the local, national and international levels.
