Flood Resilient Museums project: Visit of the Carré d’Art in Nîmes

In the framework of the Flood Resilient Museums project, conducted by the AVEC network and the IPGR with the support of the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Culture, a meeting was held in Nîmes, on February 10, 2017. This meeting brought together representatives of the cultural field, risk specialists and representatives of several French museums of the Mediterranean arc.

The day began with a visit to the Carré d’art reserves, which revealed how the building has improved its resilience to protect its collections from the risk of flooding.

The afternoon was devoted to the museums feedbacks, which make it possible to highlight the difference between the theoretical reflection and the practical management of natural hazard.
